The Angels completed an exciting three game sweep of the Royals over the weekend at Angels Stadium and now are riding a four game winning streak.

Game one saw Matt Palmer once again pitch lights out in the teams 4-1 victory. The highlight of the night was Howie Kendrick's inside the park HR courtesy of former Angel Jose Guillen.

Saturday night Angel fans saw a marquee match up when Zack Greinke and his microscopic ERA hooked up with Joe Saunders in the best pitching duel the Angels have seen all season. Chone Figgins drove home a run with a sacrifice fly and that was all Joe needed as he threw his first big league complete game shut out. Angels win 1-0.

It's was Mother's Day on Sunday and Torii Hunter who the crowd home happy. Hunter's spectacular catch, robbing Miguel Olivo of a home run in the 9th inning preserved the Halos 4-3 victory.

Scot Shields looked good over the weekend. His struggles early on could be due to tendinitis in his knee.

Roster Report

After the Sunday's game the Angels optioned Anthony Ortega back to Triple A Salt Lake. With Mike Napoli seeing more time at DH it's likely Mike Scioscia will bring up a third catcher (most likely Bobby Wilson).

Los Angeles will use Jered Weaver, Matt Palmer and Joe Saunders vs Boston this week. If all goes according to plan, expect to see John Lackey and Ervin Santana activated for Friday and Saturday's games in Texas.

Kelvim Escobar who threw a simulated game on Friday will start a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday in Arizona.

Mike Scioscia says Vladimir Guerrero will be used as the DH when he returns to the line in about two or three weeks.
