June 5, 2002 at Edison International the Angels beat the Texas Rangers 7-5. The Angels would tie the game in the bottom of the 9th inning with home runs from Tim Salmon and Brad Fullmer and after the Rangers would re-take the lead in the top of the 10th, the Angels would win on a home run from Troy Glaus in their next at-bat. Al Levine picked up the win in relief. Brad Fullmer was traded to the Angels by the Toronto Blue Jays at the start of the 2002 season for pitcher Brian Cooper. Fullmer would primarily play as the designated hitter and get some starts at first base in 2002, where he went on to hit .289 with 19 home runs and 59 RBI's in 130 games played. During the playoffs that year on the way to the World Championship, Fullmer would have his best series in the ALCS against the Minnesota Twins, when he was 4-12 with 2 runs, 4 RBI's and a home run. Fullmer would only play in 63 games for the Angels in 2003 and was released in October of that year.
