Angelswin.com is sad to confirm that pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed last night in a traffic accident in Fullerton.
Adenhart was born in Silver Spring, Maryland on August 24, 1986 and drafted in the 14th round of the 2004 amateur draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Nick came back from Tommy John surgery in high school and made it all the way to the majors, making his debut on May 12, 2008 against Chicago White Sox.
Last night Adenhart pitched 6 shut out innings in his 2009 debut for the club.
Police reported that an individual driving a minivan ran through a red light, causing a two car crash which killed 3 people, including Adenhart. It was also reported that the the person driving the van fled the scene, but was later caught and charged with felony hit-and-run, and that one of the other men killed in the crash was also affiliated with the Angels organization.
Adenhart was 22 years old.

RIP Nick. You were an Angel here on earth and you remain an Angel in Heaven. I don't think I will every be able to hear or watch the Calling all angels song before the games without crying.
You will be missed.
