The Squeeze: Angels 9, Rangers 6
The Angels have won two in a row for just the second time this spring after taking down the Texas Rangers 9-6 at Tempe Diablo Stadium Thursday.
Lunch and Lineups: Weaver sent to minors
…. but only for the day. Rather than take his regular turn against the Giants at Scottsdale Stadium today (with no DH), Jered Weaver will pitch for the Angels’ minor-leaguers against a group of A’s minor-leaguers instead. Mike Napoli will catch him and Scot Shields is also scheduled to pitch in that game.
Angels collect 15 hits in win vs. Rangers
Kendry Morales and Howard Kendrick each singled and doubled and had two RBIs. Maicer Izturis stroked a two-run double, walked and stole a base. Hideki Matsui also doubled and singled.
Angels offense beginning to click
With Opening Day drawing nearer, manager Mike Scioscia, for the second day in a row, drew up a lineup on Thursday that could surface more than occasionally this season.
Angels are taking no chances with the left-hander, who has tightness in his throwing shoulder but says it's not a cause for concern.
