Angels notes: Rough start for Wood
Brandon Wood trotted out to the third-base line for pre-game introductions on his first Opening Night in the big leagues feeling largely unburdened by expectations.

Reserves enjoy first Opening Day
Matt Palmer, Terry Evans and Bobby Wilson were almost certainly not going to ever play on Opening Day. But for those three members of the Angels’ 25-man roster, it was still a special night.

Kazmir feeling “real good” after Sunday’s start
Left-hander Scott Kazmir said he felt “real good” after his seven-inning outing Sunday morning in Arizona. Kazmir threw 77 pitches against Cubs minor-leaguers then “10 or 11 more” in the bullpen afterwards.

The Los Angeles Angels are going with an unusual arrangement for the radio broadcasts of their home games. Terry Smith will be doing all nine innings by himself. When was the last time the Angels had a one-man broadcast team?
