On April 11, 1990 the California Angels beat the Seattle Mariners 1-0 at Anaheim Stadium. In the game Mark Langston, making his first start for the Angels after signing a $16 million five year free-agent contract in December 1989, went the first seven innings in a combined no-hitter with Mike Witt. Langston walked four and struck out three in the game while Witt went the last two innings, striking out two.  The only Angels' run came on a bases loaded walk to Dante Bichette in the seventh inning. Langston was pulled after seven innings due to being on a pitch count in the game.  Spring training was abbreviated that year due to an owner lock out when the basic labor agreement expired. Langston would play for the Angels from 1990-1997 compiling an 88-74 won/lost record and 3.97 ERA, earning selections to the All-Star teams in 1991-1993 while with the Angels.
