This Day in Angels Baseball: April 1st, 1998

On April 1, 1998 the Anaheim Angels took the field in what was an estimated $100 million renovation of the ballpark.  In October of 1996 renovations to Anaheim Stadium began to turn the ballpark back into a baseball-only park after the Los Angeles Rams left at the end of 1995.  At first the renovated stadiums name was Edison International Field of Anaheim and in December of 2003 it was changed to Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Some of the features included were the removal of 20,000 seats in the outfield and the cascading waterfalls put in, terraced bullpens in the outfield, new club-level and dug-out level suites, landscaped courtyards and three full service restaurants.
