April 20, 2005 the Angels would defeat the Cleveland Indians 2-0 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Bartolo Colon would get the win, pitching 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out 6 before Francisco Rodriguez would pitch the ninth for the save. Chone Figgins hit a solo home run and Darin Erstad had an RBI single for the Angels scoring. The win was Colon's third of April in 2005 where he would go on to win 21 games and become the first Angels pitcher to win the Cy Young Award since Dean Chance won it in 1964. Only Nolan Ryan and Clyde Wright had won more games in a single season for the Angels with 22.
