Salt Lake Bees
Box Score

The Good: Corey Aldridge had two hits on the night, including an RBI, his 29th of the season. Mark Trumbo went 1-4, but his one hit was an RBI double. Recently promoted southpaw Amalio Diaz pitched three innings of relief, giving up just one run which was unearned.

The Bad: Sean O'Sullivan who had been pitching well got hit hard, giving up six runs, five earned on eight hits in just three innings of work. Fernando Rodriguez gave up three runs in an inning of work out of the bullpen. Terry Evans went 0-4 with a strikeout to lower his average to.303 on the season. He's hit just .189 in his last ten games with just one extra base hit.

Noteworthy: Southpaw prospect Will Smith will make his first start for the Salt Lake Bees tonight at home against the Round Rock club (Astros affiliate).


Arkansas Travelers
Box Score

The Good: Ryan Aldridge (0.75) and Michael Kohn (0.61) continued to pitch well out of the bullpen, throwing scoreless frames a piece. Aldridge pitched an inning and 2/3 of scoreless ball. Andrew Romine raised his average to .308 with a 3-4 day. INF Ivan Contreras who has played for three affiliates this season already, had his second straight multi-hit game, going 2-4 on the day, giving him a .500 average with the Travs out of the gate.

The Bad: Ryan Braiser  (5.29) gave up four runs in 4 1/3 innings of work.

Noteworthy: The Travs are off Wednesday and begin a four-game series against the Tulsa Drilers on Thursday at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
Box Score

The Good: Darwin Perez is quietly having a good start to his 2010 season. Perez went 2-3 with a double, triple and two RBI's. Jake Rife (.500) playing in just his second game after coming off the DL went 2-3 for the Quakes playing LF. Alexi Amarista went just 1-4 on the night, but his one hit was his first home run of the season, a two-run shot.

The Bad: Ryan Chaffee has yet to notch a quality start for the Quakes in 2010. In his first three starts since coming off the DL, Chaffee has a 12.34 ERA and opponents are hitting .375 off him.

Noteworthy: Bobby Wilson went 1-3 at the plate and was 1-2 in throwing out runners trying to steal.

Cedar Rapids Kernels
Box Score

The Good: Ho hum, another two hits for Mike Trout (.366), another extra base hit too (double). Luis Jimenez went 2-3 on the night, his two hits were a double (12) and triple (4). Pat Corbin (4.08) pitched his best game of the season, going a strong eight innings, giving up just one run on three hits and moved to 6-0 on the season. Jon Hellweg saved his fourth game of the season.

The Bad: The slide continues for Carlos Ramirez who went 0-4 again, lowering his average to .176.

Noteworthy: The Kernels most consistent starter in 2010 who sports a team best 2.27 ERA, gets the start tonight for Cedar Rapids.

Prospect of the Day: Luis Jimenez, 3B/DH and Pat Corbin, LHP Cedar Rapids Kernels
