Salt Lake Bees

The Good: Mark Trumbo had a base knock and walk in four trips to the plate. He also stole his second base of the season. Hank Conger (.258) went 0-3 but he had the lone RBI on the night.

The Bad: The Bees managed just three hits as a team on the night (Quinlan, Trumbo and Colmenares). Will Smith got tagged pretty good, giving up four runs in on seven hits, including two home runs, in 5 1/3 innings of work. He did strike out the side in the first inning despite giving up three runs to the Round Rock club.

Noteworthy: The Mighty Q got a hit, a double..... for the Bees! Mike Scioscia's favorite is hitting .222 for the Triple-A club.

The Good: Making his first start of the season, the Dominican Ariel Pena threw five scoreless innings for the Quakes, giving up just three hits, though walking three, while fanning four batters. Ariel Pena led the Dominican league in strikeouts in 2008 with 103 in 96 2/3 innings. The entire bullpen was incredible for the Quakes on Wednesday, throwing a combined six scoreless innings in a game that went into extras, with Chris Geltz getting the victory in relief. Roberto Lopez got the start at 1B and had two knocks, including a double. Lopez is hitting .361.

The Bad: Alexi Amarista, Darwin Perez and Gabe Jacobo all went 0-4 on the night, with Amarista getting caught stealing for his 7th time on the season.

Noteworthy: Bobby Wilson (.333) went 1-3 at the plate and was 2-3 in throwing out runners trying to steal.
