The Good: Trevor Reckling (4.64)  fanned seven through seven innings, giving up three runs. Reckling did walk six however, giving him a 23:23 BB/K ratio. Rafael Rodriguez pitched two scoreless innings to earn his sixth save of the season. 2B/3B Nate Sutton went 4-4 with three RBI's. Ryan, Aldridge and Trumbo each had two hits a piece.

The Bad: Newly acquired Kevin Frandsen went 0-5, dropping his batting average down to .296.

The Noteworthy: Outside of one bad inning in which Reckling gave up three runs, Trevor Reckling held his own against a good hitting Sacramento River Cats team on Wednesday. Reckling shut down A's top prospects: Michael Taylor, Chris Carter, Adrian Cardenas and Corey Brown on the night, going hitless against the 20-year old southpaw. Including veteran Jack Cust.

Arkansas Travelers

The Good: Hainley Statia playing 3B for the Travelers went 3-4 on the night. Julio Perez had a hit and two RBI's.

The Bad: Ryan Braiser who pitched a no hitter in his last start got roughed up against Tulsa. Braiser gave up six runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings of work.

The Noteworthy: Tulsa goes for the three-game sweep tonight sending rehabbing southpaw Jeff Francis to the hill against Travs lefty Jayson Miller (0-4, 4.13)

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
Box Score

The Good: Gabe Jacobo (.293) went 3-3 with a home run (6) and two walks on the night. Third baseman Dillon Baird went 2-4 with three RBI's on the night. RHP Tyler Chatwood (2.25) fanned nine batters through five scoreless innings on Wednesday. He walked just one and gave up four hits. Steven Geltz fanned four through two innings of relief work. He has eight strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and a 2.45 ERA.

The Bad: Hard to pick on anyone after a solid showing ball all the Quakes on Wednesday night, winning the game 13-1. Roberto Lopez had just one hit on the night (1-5), striking out three times and lowering his batting average to .370 which ties Alexi Amarista for the team lead in BA.

The Noteworthy: Ryan Chaffee gets another crack at it tonight, making his second start of the season after getting shelled in his first start (32.40 ERA).

Cedar Rapids Kernels
Box Score

The Good: 2B Jean Segura had three knocks on the day, including a home run, his first of the season. Mike Trout went 1-4 (a double) with 2 RBI's and a walk. Trout swiped his organizational best 15th base on the season. UCLA product Casey Haerther had three hits, raising his average to .250.

The Bad: Fabio Mesa Martinez fanned six batters through six innings, but he gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks on the day raising his ERA to 4.44.

The Noteworthy: LF/2B Justin Bass made his first start of the season for the Kernels. Justin is the son of former big leaguer Kevin Bass who spent a good portion of his career with the Houston Astros. Bass went 1-4 on the day playing in LF.
