On May 21, 1993 the California Angels lost to the Texas Rangers 6-4 at Arlington Stadium. Chuck Crim would take the loss in relief, giving up a 2 run home run to Juan Gonzalez in the bottom of the 10th inning. Chad Curtis would go 2-4 in the game, scoring 2 runs and stealing his 21st base of the season. Curtis would be a 45th round draft selection of the Angels in 1989 out of Grand Canyon University. He would make his major league debut with the Angels in 1992 and play 3 season with the Angels, stealing 116 bases during that time. 1993 would be Curtis's best year with the Angels when he batted .285 with 166 hits, scoring 94 runs and swiping 48 bases. The 48 steals in 1993 ranks him tied for 8th all time in Angels history for a single season. Curtis would be traded to Detroit for Tony Phillips at the start of the 1995 season.
