This Day in Angels Baseball: May 8th, 1976

May 8, 1976 the California Angles would beat the Cleveland Indians 4-3 at Anaheim Stadium. The Angels would score a run in the bottom of the 12th inning to tie the game and then another in the bottom of the 13th to win. Jim Brewer would pick up the victory in relief and Bobby Bonds would go 3-4, scoring 2 runs. In the game 14 Angels would walk, setting their single game record for free passes in a game over 9 innings. Bonds would play for the Angels during the 1976 and 1977 seasons, having his best year with them in 1977 hitting 37 home runs (at the time tied for most in a single season for an Angel player) and driving in 115.
