Box Score
Jeremy Moore was the star of the game with his walk-off two RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Moore went 1-5 and is hitting .292 on the season. Tyson Auer went 1-3 with an RBI and a couple walks, stealing three bases on the night. Auer now leads Trout for most stolen bases in the organization with 48. Carlos Colmenares had three hits for the second straight game. Robert Fish who has struggled in the last month had his second blown save while with the Travs. Fish's ERA for the month of June was 6.39 and for July is at 19.06 after posting a sparkling 2.45 ERA in the month of May after his promotion to Double-A and a solid first month of the season with the Quakes (1.13) in High-A ball.
Trout went 3 for 5 with two doubles, a triple, two runs, an RBI, and now he’s hitting .304/.407/.609 for the Quakes after a slow start. Pat Corbin (3.81 ERA) was touched up for the first time with the Quakes, giving up eight runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. Gabe Jacobo (12) and Eric Oliver (4) each hit a home run in the game. Jeremy Berg pitched two and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief work, lowering his ERA to 1.45. Berg has a sick 27 to 2 strikeout to walk ratio over 18 innings of relief.
Cedar Rapids Kernels
Fabio Martinez Mesa (3.73 ERA) threw seven shutout innings, striking out nine and walking three. Martinez-Mesa has fanned 130 in 94 innings this year. With that said, his control is still a concern as he's walked 65 batters in 94 innings at low-A. Jean Segura (.298) was the DH and went 2-4, stealing his 33rd base on the season. Justin Bass, Michael Wing and Carlos Ramirez homered for the Kernels. Ramirez (.218) is hitting .313/.421/.406 in his past 10 games after a terrible first half of the season which saw him under the Mendoza line until July where he seemingly turned it around offensively.
