• Salt Lake: The Bees hot hitters were all cooled on Tuesday night, with the heart of the order (3-5) all going 0-11 in a 4-0 loss to the Las Vegas club. Even Alexi Amarista (.455) went just 1-4 off the Jays farmhand Brad Mills. Only Paul McAnulty had an extra base hit (a double) on the night. Trevor Bell fanned seven through seven innings of work, giving up four earned runs on six hits.
• Arkansas: Sorry readers, but nothing of significance to report on Mike Trout as Tuesday night was a battle of talented young southpaws, which saw Martin Perez outduel Trevor Reckling (2.30 ERA) in a rain-shortened perfect game for Perez through five innings. Reckling went five and 2/3 innings and struck out five batters, while giving up five hits. He walked just one and in 15 2/3 innings Trevor has walked just 3 batters. Good news for Reckling thus far as his command the last couple years has been an issue (Reckling walked 85 batters in 2010).
• Inland Empire: Manuel Flores (2.60 ERA) and Jose Perez (2nd Save, 0.00 ERA) combined on a three-hit shutout, helping the 66ers preserve a 1-0 victory over the San Jose club. Flores struck out five, scattering three hits and didn't walk a hitter. Michael Wing had three hits and is sporting a .360/.360/.400 line thus far on the young season. Jean Segura went 0 for 4, lowering his batting average to .382.
