When we last spoke with Angels outfielder Torii Hunter, he was preparing to meet and greet the fans while he promoted the Pepsi Max Field of Dreams. Little did he know what kind of turnout there would be to greet him. Conservative estimates place it at well over 500 fans showed up just to get a moment with their favorite player. More accurate estimates are closer to 1,000 fans were there.
Being a consummate professional, Torii waited and signed for all those in line. That's just the kind of guy he is, and that's why he's such a fan favorite. He did not want to disappoint the crowd—even if it meant altering his pre-game rituals.
After seeing the lines waiting to press hands with Torii, and knowing how many signatures he’d make, AngelsWin.com wondered if all that would affect his performance on the night. Apparently meeting with the fans agrees with him as he went 1 for 4 with a homerun.
AngelsWin.com caught up with Torii again to find out how he enjoyed meeting all the fans. We talked about his desire to win a World Series, and how that would affect his decision about which uniform he’d wear in the Hall of Fame. Click below to listen to our interview with Torii Hunter.
