Salt Lake - Off

Arkansas - Postponed due to rain

Inland Empire - The 66ers were shut out on Thursday, dropping the game 4-0. Kole Calhoun, Carlos Ramirez and Matt Long continued to hit well. Calhoun went 1-2 with a walk, raising his batting average to .315. Ramirez kept his average at .367, with a knock, and threw a runner out on the bases. Long finished 2-4. The curious case of Ariel Pena continued. 6 innings 4 earned, 9 strike outs. I expect him to be a reliever next year.

Cedar Rapids - The Kernals picked up the win, 6-5 and had a lot of bright spots on the field. Travis Witherspoon (remember the name) went 3-4 with a home run, his 11th, walk, and 2 stolen bases, his 42nd and 43rd. Randal Grichuk went 2-4 raising his CR average to .212. The star of the night, however, was AJ Schugel. 6 innings 1 hit, 0 earned runs, 7 strike outs. Schugel is just 22 years old, and now has a 2.59 ERA, and has also improved his K/BB ratio to just over 2:1.

Orem - Ogden beat the Owlz today 13-7. Yakubik, Jones, Hall all had 2 hit games, while Cowart added 3 hits of his own. Frazier Hall continues to be stupid good. .392 average, 1.026 OPS and just 26 punch outs. Kaleb Cowart's 3 hits hopefully snapped him out of his slump. He was hitting just .213 in his last 10 games.

AZL Angels - The AZL Angels won again, this time 8-7 in 10 innings. First and foremost, Chevy Clarke is my favorite tweeter (@OfficialChevy), so follow him if you don't. Secondly, he is on fire right now, his average all the way up to .217 with 2 more hits today including his 8th triple. He has an unbelievable 1.311 OPS in his last 10 games. 20 year old Kevin Moesquit went 3-4 with a double raising his average to .288 with a ridiculous .431 OBP. Aaron Sookee picked up his 1st save with a perfect 10th.

DSL Angels - Today's results are not available so I will recap the 2nd game of yesterday's doubleheader. Once again pitching was the story. Franklin Santana tossed 5 innings surrendering 1 run and striking out 3. Ismael Dionicio chipped in with 3 hits and his 13th stolen base as the Angels won 6-1.
Love to hear what you think!
