Salt Lake - The Bees lost a tough one 11-8. Alexi Amarista went 2-4 and now has 6 hits in his last 2 games. He is making a mad dash to finish the year above .300, as he is now hitting .297. Ryan Kiniry who has filled in almost every level this year, went 4-4 with his 1st home run as a Bee. Michael Kohn tossed a scoreless inning in the 8th.

Arkansas - The Travs won 7-4 on the 1st game of their last series of the regular season. Luis Jimenez who was having a very bad week, turned it around, going 2-4 with his 18th home run of the year. Lucho, who missed all of 2009 with an injury, figures to at least be given a shot to win the starting third baseman job with the Angels in Spring Training in 2012. Christian Scholl turned in another quality start, and was rewarded with a W. Scholl has a 2.32 ERA on the season with a .196 opponents batting average. David Carpenter locked down his 5th save, and kept his ERA at 0.00 with the Travs. Since joining the team, he has tossed 18.2 straight scoreless innings, and has a 0.57 ERA between IE and Arkansas this year.

Inland Empire - The 66ers were downed by Stockton 7-1 on Saturday. Jean Segura went 2-4 with 2 singles, which raised his average to just .271. Suffering an injured plagued year, Segura should still be ticketed for Arkansas sometime in 2012. Kole Calhoun swiped his 20th bag, which put him in the 20/20 club with 22 home runs and 20 stole bases. Not much else to report out of IE tonight.

Cedar Rapids - Cancelled

Orem - The Owlz won 4-3 and clinched a spot in the playoffs! Taylor Lindsey was once again pivotal in the Owlz winning. He went 2-5 with the go ahead RBI in the 9th inning. Earlier last week, Lindsey was named the Pioneer League MVP for 2011. Daniel Vargas-Vila turned in a very nice outing. 5.1 innings, 1 earned run, 6 strike outs, 0 walks. Drafted out of West Florida this year, Vargas-Vila has a 3.54 ERA for Orem. 20 year old Danny Reynolds threw 3 scoreless innings and picked up his 3rd win in relief.
