As the minor league season winds down, we are going to wrap up our "Prospect Reports" for the year here at AngelsWin.com. Thank you everyone for reading, I really enjoyed writing these, and I can't wait for 2012 as the Angels once again have a new wave of top prospects moving up.
Salt Lake - The Bees took Sunday night's affair 10-3. Paul McAnulty went 2-3 with 2 home runs. Infielder Freddy Sandoval, who has had a cup of coffee with the Angels in 2008 and 2009, went 4-5 with a double. The 29 year old is hitting .288 with the Bees this season. Alexi Amarista went 0-5 playing shortstop but still had a very solid year for Salt Lake. He's hitting .292, while playing virtually every position on the diamond.
Prospects of the season: INF Alexi Amarista, OF Jeremy Moore, 1B Efren Navarro
Arkansas - The Travelers won 10-3 and got their offense from some unlikely sources. Catcher Alberto Rosario went 3-5, Chris Pettit went 2-5 with a homer, and Roberto Lopez went 2-4 with 2 doubles. These 3 knocked in half of the Travs runs. Surprisingly, Luis Jimenez went 0-5 and dipped just below .290. Mike Piazza (No, not THAT Mike Piazza) tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, lowering his ERA on the season to 3.26.
Prospects of the season: OF, Mike Trout, 3B Luis Jimenez - SP Matt Shoemaker, SP Garrett Richards
Inland Empire - The 66ers went down in defeat on Sunday, 3-0. Jean Segura went 2-4 with a double, raising his average to .276 on the year. It will be interesting to see whether the Angels start Segura in Inland Empire next year, or if they move him to Arkansas. Michael Wing went 2-2, and now has a .859 OPS on the season, a definite surprise top prospect. Randal Grichuk went 1-4 and is now hitting an even .300 since joining the 66ers a couple weeks ago.
Prospects of the season: OF Kole Calhoun, C Carlos Ramirez - SP Johnny Hellweg
Cedar Rapids - The Kernels were beaten 7-0 by the Burlington Bees. Justin Bass racked up 2 more hits, bringing his average to .274. In the future, we could see a Trout, Bass and Fish all on the same Angels team. Tyler Kehrer (2009 compensation pick) threw 0.2 scoreless innings. His disappointing season is concluding with a low 4 ERA.
Prospects of the season: OF Justin Bass - RP Dakota Robinson
Orem - The Owlz pitching let them down today as they lost 14-9. Ricky Pacione lead the offensive charge going 4-5. Pacione, a catcher, is hitting .321 on the year and is one of many bright young catchers the Angels have now, along with Abel Baker and Kyle Mahoney, not to mention Carlos Ramirez. Gary Mitchell went 3-4 raising his average to .302. The 22 year old outfielder has a .924 OPS on the season. Taylor Lindsey picked up his 100th hit of the season, and 3 more RBIs. A 19 year old second baseman, Lindsey was named the Pioneer League MVP and leads the league in hitting.
Prospects of the season: 2B Taylor Lindsey, 1B/DH CJ Cron - SP Nick Maronde

Prospects of the season: C Jett Bandy - RP Stephen Tromblee
DSL Angels - Season over
Prospects of the season: SS Pedro Toribio - SP Jean Carlos Santiago, SP Daniel Hurtado, SP Eswarlin Jimenez
