So, it's not surprising that the Angels focus heavily on drafting and developing pitching each and every year. Over the course of a season, the parent club goes through many starters and relievers, so, they are constantly in need of talented pitchers.
One of the newest pitchers drafted by the Angels is Mark Sappington. Taken in the 5th round (177th overall), he's a talented righty who can touch the mid-90s. Taken out of Rockhurst University, he is the highest pick taken in the school's history.
