GAME 54 - RANGERS AT ANGELS
ANAHEIM – Garret Anderson had two hits, including his 10th
home run of the season, and Ramon Ortiz gave up only four hits in 6 2/3 innings
as the Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 5-2, before 15,619 at Edison Field.
Anderson’s homer leading off the bottom of the second inning
got the ball rolling for the Angels, who made the most of their seven hits.
Including Anderson, five different Angels had one RBI each – Darin Erstad, Brad
Fullmer, Tim Salmon and Scott Spiezio.
Ortiz improved to 6-5 after giving up two runs while
striking out six. Troy Percival pitched a scoreless ninth for his 10th
save.
