GAME 83 - ORIOLES AT ANGELS
ANAHEIM – The Angels’ bats went silent for the first six innings and starting pitcher Kevin Appier struggled his way through 6 1/3 innings in the Angels’ 7-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles before 43,342 at Edison Field.
Orioles starter Travis Draskill isn’t exactly a household name, but he kept the Angels in check Adam Kennedy (single) and David Eckstein (groundout) drove in runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Appier, meanwhile, gave up five runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings, falling to 6-7 this season. Four relievers combined to give up the other two runs as the Angels fell five games behind Seattle in the A.L. West.
