GAME 135 - ORIOLES AT ANGELS
ANAHEIM – The Angels put the game away early with a six-run second inning, allowing starting pitcher Ramon Ortiz to settle in and go the distance with a five-hit shutout in a 9-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles before 38,563 at Edison Field.
Ortiz gave up five hits – all singles – striking out six and walking none while improving to 11-9.
The Angels got offense from all over, led by Orlando Palmeiro’s four hits. Darin Erstad had three hits, Bengie Molina hit a three-run homer and Adam Kennedy homered.
