Opening day April, 5 1983 saw the California Angels beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 at Anaheim Stadium. The Angels got all the scoring they needed from a homerun by Daryl Sconiers and RBI from Bobby Grich as Bruce Kison out-dueled Don Sutton. The Angels would finish fifth in the AL West that year at 70-92. 1983 was the year Fred Lynn won the MVP of the All-Star game playing for the Angels.
