Noteworthy: The struggling SS Andrew Romine was given the night off. His first of the season.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

The Good: SS Adam Younger collected two hits, including a triple on the night and is hitting .333. Jeremy Haynes (2.45) pitched two perfect innings of relief, striking out three.

The Bad: M. Correa was rocked, giving up eight runs on 11 hits in four innings of work. The Quakes had just six hits on the night.

Noteworthy: The Angels best starting pitcher down on the farm Tyler Chatwood  (4-2, 1.65 ERA) takes to the hill tonight hoping to help salvage the final game of the three game series vs. the Jethawks. Rancho Cucamonga (22-19) fell to five games behind of first-place Lake Elsinore in the South Division.

Cedar Rapids Kernels

The Good: Tyler Skaggs fanned six,  walked none and allowed just one run on four hits  to even up his record to 2-2 on the season. Skaggs ERA sits at 2.45. Tyler Kehrer earned the save (3) by going the final  four innings, giving up two runs on five hits, striking out three. Justin Bass (.205) went 2-4 with a double.

The Bad: Carlos Ramirez (.183) and Justin Bass (.175) went a combined 0-7 on the night. If you want to call this bad, Mike Trout had just one hit in four trips to the plate, striking out twice and lowering his batting average to .373 on the season.

Noteworthy: AngelsWin.com journalist Cassy Carlson is credentialed and covering the game today in Cedar Rapids in which the Kernels best pitcher this season, Orangel Arenas toes the rubber.  Also, look for a Mike Trout video interview on our Blog later.
