Salt Lake - The Bees lost a close one, 8-7. Jeff Baisley went 3-5, raising his average to .317 and padding his case to at least get called up when the rosters expand. Jeremy Moore was 1-3 with a walk, and a bases loaded single. His combination of speed and power could make him the ideal 4th outfielder for the Angels for awhile. Jason Bulger and Matt Meyer tossed scoreless innings in relief.

Arkansas - Matt Shoemaker was once again the story for the Travelers. He threw 6 beautiful innings, allowing just 1 hit, 0 runs and striking out 6. The only reason he left the game was to limit his league leading innings pitched. His ERA now sits at 2.18 and is making a strong case to possibly throw his name in the hat for the number 5 starter on the Angels next year. There was a ton of offense for the Travs, as they won 12-0. Trout went 2-6 with a mammoth HR and a double. Luis Jimenez went 2-4 with his 15th HR and Gabe Jacobo went 2-5. Robert Fish also threw a scoreless inning in relief.

Inland Empire - The 66ers won 5-2 in a game where a couple of players made their high-A ball debut. Starting pitcher AJ Schugel was very good in his 1st start for the 66ers. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs, striking out 5 and walking none. Out of the bullpen, 2010 2nd rounder Dan Tillman pitched a perfect inning, 3 ground outs. Offensively, David Harris was 3-4 as the right fielder. Matt Long and Dwayne Bailey also added 2 hits a piece.

Cedar Rapids - The Kernels lost 5-3 on Thursday to the Burlington Bees. Jairo Diaz, just called up from the AZL was roughed up. He gave up 4 runs, all earned, in 5 innings, walking 5. Donn Roach continues to have a solid year in the bullpen. Today he went 2.1 shutout innings, striking out 3. Justin Bass went 2-4 and Travis Witherspoon went 1-3 with a double.

Orem - Pitching pitching pitching, and Abel Baker. The Owlz held the powerful Missoula Osprey to just 4 runs, and won 5-4. Danny Reynolds shut the door at the end of the game with 3 Ks in the 9th. Abel Baker was the powerhouse for the Owlz. He went 3-4 just a triple away from the cycle. His HR was his 4th of the year. Baker could be a good catching prospect for the Halos. Jerod Yakubik also added 2 hits.
