GAME 54 - RANGERS AT ANGELS

ANAHEIM – Garret Anderson had two hits, including his 10th home run of the season, and Ramon Ortiz gave up only four hits in 6 2/3 innings as the Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 5-2, before 15,619 at Edison Field.

Anderson’s homer leading off the bottom of the second inning got the ball rolling for the Angels, who made the most of their seven hits. Including Anderson, five different Angels had one RBI each – Darin Erstad, Brad Fullmer, Tim Salmon and Scott Spiezio.

Ortiz improved to 6-5 after giving up two runs while striking out six. Troy Percival pitched a scoreless ninth for his 10th save.
